I believe it’s so important for kids to learn how to make their own choices in life. Here, they get to slow down and think about what they want to do, and learn how to make the choices to pursue those things. It’s a new way of thinking and it’s so needed.

Community is one of my core beliefs, and this is one of the few places where I see community flourishing.

In the same way I see it impacting these kids, it’s really impacted my work outside of Hackstudio. What goes on inside these walls is making waves outside these walls.

Don is actively involved in building community in Skokie. But he always finds time to listen to records on his turntable.
